Like most artists I like to work to music.
I've found that when I get the right set of tunes it helps me to focus and even work longer. It makes the work easier some how.
I think there is a deep connection between visual art and music. (music videos...used to work like this..)
I'm going to release an Ep with my new graphic novel. It will have songs I've created to go along with my story and setting. I'm trying to change the comic experience...bring a different layer of depth to it..
Does the type of music influence what you draw?
The more aggressive the music the more aggressive the artwork?
What are you favorites songs from creating artwork?
Thoughts?

ECB Ends With A Bang
As most of you know I started my comic Emerald City Blues at a 24 hour comic challenge event a couple years back. This weekend I'm going to attempt to finish it at another! I'll be at The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach this Saturday 10/4 from 4pm till issue 4 is done (or I fall down from exhaustion). If you've ever wanted to be part of making a comic book come on down and help me fill in the blacks, clean up pages and maybe ink some backgrounds. I'll have some ECB prints with me as well.

Back from Houston Finishing up ECB 4
Spent last weekend in Houston for the Amazing Comic Con show. I had a fantastic time! I met lots of people who follow my work and introduced it to many others.
Finally focusing on finishing Issue #4 of ECB Emerald City Blues. Beginning to think it may take a 5th issue to wrap it up. It's taken forever to finish it mostly because I keep thinking up new ideas that I want to add to it. I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has read and supported it by buying issues of it. ECB had some to represent a transitional time in my creative development and I have enjoyed sharing it with everyone one Deviant Art.
I'm hoping to get it done by this ye

I have definitely noticed that the happier and bouncier the music is that I'm listening to, the more animated the characters seem to be. The heavier the music the more grounded they become. I can listen to lyrics when I'm drawing or inking but not when I'm writing. When it's drawing/inking I like to have stuff I can sing along to, and my characters sing with me. I know that sounds crazy but that's what it feels like.
